Located at the confluence of the Christina and Brandywine rivers is the largest city in Delaware.
It was founded in 1638 and is thought to have been named after Spencer Compton, Earl of Wilmington.
Today, Wilmington is home to nine historic districts and one conservation district, encompassing many historic sites and buildings, making it a great destination for history buffs.
There are also numerous museums, art galleries, golf courses, and state parks, while the Wilmington Riverfront is a great place to relax and unwind after a long day of sightseeing.
