We have compiled a list of New Forest lodges and cabins to suit your forest holiday needs. These woodland holidays are situated within the New Forest National Park in the UK.

The Retreat – Avon, Christchurch

The Retreat is great for couples and allows two dogs to spend some cozy quality time with their humans. The cottage sleeps four and is ideally located for visitors to not only sleep surrounded by the forest, but also to go walking and exploring the surrounding woods.

This New Forest lodge offers a relaxing retreat from everyday life and includes a hot tub. The Retreat stands on stilts and highlights the surrounding woodland through its charming woodland theme. The natural woods around the cabin is highlighted through atmospheric artwork, natural greenery, and wonderful wooden details in the cabin decor. On the covered deck you can find fairy lights, candles, and seating, as well as a sunken hot tub.

Old Telephone Exchange

The Old Telephone Exchange is best for couples and only one dog is allowed; if you plan to holiday here, and explore the woods through walking trails remember to keep your dog on a leash at all times.

The Old Telephone Exchange is on the Beaulieu Estate and is a truly unique New Forest lodge. The surrounding woods provide great opportunities for walking some idyllic nature trails. The accommodation is dog-friendly, spacious, and open-plan. This gorgeous little cabin offers outdoor dining facilities that overlook a picturesque lake in the countryside. Spend some quality time surrounded by beautiful forests.

Beaulieu River View – Beaulieu

This cottage does not allow any dogs, but is great for couples wanting to discover some serenity.

The New Forest countryside is an irresistible getaway in this former yachtsman’s cabin. This New Forest lodge is the perfect escape for romantic holidays surrounded by countryside and right on the water’s edge.

A relaxing and welcoming atmosphere awaits guests at the lodge. The woodland location provides a balcony right among the trees where guests can get up close and personal with nature.

It is highly likely that guests will spot wildlife among the trees; deer and red squirrels are plentiful, not the mention the birds that flock to the River banks. Spend the night at this cozy waterside location where you can hire kayaks and enjoy several outdoor adventures right on the river and in the woodland trails around the cabin.

Riverside Retreat – Beaulieu

Riverside Retreat sleeps four and is good for small families or couples who want to discover the rural beauty of the New Forest. Unfortunately no dogs are allowed here.

This is another idyllic location on the river banks and only a 20-minute walk from the village. This New Forest lodge is a nature lovers dream and a fantastic location for bird watching. Spending quality time among nature, trees, and wildlife is an ideal escape from a busy life.

A forest holiday here will give guests easy access to a few outdoor adventures that can be enjoyed including day trips to Beaulieu Motor Museum and Estate or Bucklers Hard, or take a coastal walk down Solent Way from Lymington.

Kingfishers – West Wellow

Kingfishers is a great place for family forest holidays and we recommend around four nights at this cabin in order to experience the surrounding activities fully. Kingfishers sleeps four but are unfortunately not dog-friendly.

If you are looking for family holidays this holiday lodge in New Forest is the right place for you. Because this lodge is located on a farm guests and their families can enjoy morning feeds and interact with the on-site alpacas. Kids can also enjoy the on-site play barn which is stocked with toys and games to keep them busy for hours. Within easy reach are both the Peppa Pig World and the Romsey market town.

Treetops – Beaulieu 

Treetops is ideal for families as it sleeps five comfortably, but unfortunately does not allow dogs.

This lodge in New Forest stands on stilts nestled between the trees next to the River Beaulieu. This cabin provides the perfect peaceful woodland getaway. Treetops is a gentle woodland cabin where guests can take morning cycle rides to catch some deer in their natural habitat, or to go watch birds dancing on the river. Families can get close to nature through the winding trails and wild swimming opportunities that the river and forest have to offer.

Crow’s Nest Cabin – Beaulieu

Crow’s Nest is good for couples and allows one dog, along with sleeping two adults comfortably.

Located next to the Beaulieu River on stilts among the trees of New Forest is the Crow’s Nest Cabin. This forest holiday cabin provides an opportunity to relax and escape from the stresses of everyday life.
