Cowabunga Bay Open Hours

Cowabunga Bay typically opens in May and stays in operation until September. While the exact dates tend to vary from year to year, it is open during the summer months. Generally, the park is open every day, and the hours are as follows:

  • Sunday to Thursday – 11 AM to 7 PM
  • Friday – 11 AM to 11 PM
  • Saturday – 11 AM to 9 PM

The park is also open on Memorial Day weekend and Labor Day.

Dress Code

For the comfort and safety of all its guests, Cowabunga Bay Water Park has a dress code. This includes proper swimwear such as swimsuits, mid-thigh or knee-length shorts, and shirts that cover the entire torso.

As of present, Cowabunga Bay does not allow the following items:

  • Cut-off shorts
  • Street Clothes
  • Clothing with zippers, snaps, rivets, buttons, or buckles
  • Exposed undergarments
  • See-through, torn, or frayed clothing
  • Offensive graphics or language
  • Clothing that promotes violence or the taking of drugs or alcohol
  • Any clothing inappropriate for a family-friendly water park

It is important to note that shoes/ flip-flops cannot be worn on any of the water slides. Also, keep in mind that summers in Nevada can get extremely hot, so be sure to wear sunscreen and stay hydrated while enjoying the park’s attractions.

Beach Blanket Banzai

The Beach Blanket Banzai is a thrilling slide that people of all ages can enjoy. Four people at a time go down the slide using an inflatable raft, and the slide reaches dizzying heights of sixty feet. It also includes quick turns, dips, winding curves, and fast drops.

Keep in mind that the maximum capacity per raft is 770 lbs, and there is a height requirement of 36 inches to board the ride.

This is a pitch-black, fully enclosed tube slide that is perfect for adrenaline seekers. The slide also includes unique lighting features that make this high-speed journey even more memorable.

Surf-A-Go-Go

This exciting inner-tube slide takes visitors down into two massive rebound chambers, where you will rebound from side to side and climb up the walls. The slide is 600 feet long and ends in a big splash.

Shoes cannot be worn on the slide, and the following restrictions apply:

Surfin’ USA

Surfin’ USA is one of the most popular slides at the park. This mat-racer slide featuring six lanes starts at a dizzying 50 feet and dips down at impressive speeds. Visitors can race each other towards the finish line, where the ride will end in a splash.

There is a minimum height requirement of 42 inches and a maximum weight restriction of 260 lbs.

Wild Surf

Wild Surf is the largest man-made wave in the world. The ride is 60 feet high, from where big four-person rafts drop down into the swell of the wave before crashing through the wave’s crest. It is a thrilling slide that moves visitors from side to side and ends in a big splash pool.

The rafts are designed for groups of three or four people, and the weight of the group cannot exceed 660 lbs. There is also a minimum height requirement of 48 inches.

Zuma Zooma

The Zuma Zooma drops from a staggering 73 feet before taking visitors through a 360° loop at a high speed. It also features a trap door (or “launch capsule”) which opens to drop riders down this thrilling slide. Zuma Zooma is also Nevada’s tallest water slide, and the fastest water slide in the area.

Note that shoes are not permitted on the slide, and that riders must meet a minimum height of 48 inches and maximum weight of 260 lbs.

Cowabunga Kids Cove

Cowabunga River

This lazy river is a Cowabunga Bay classic and a favorite for many of its visitors. It is an excellent way to cool off and is reminiscent of the retro surf scene in the 60s – with giant surfboards and a 1967 VW beetle. It also includes some fun water features. While there is no height restriction, it is advised for children under 42 inches tall to be accompanied and supervised by an adult.

Surf-A-Rama Wave Pool

This wave pool is located near a 1950s Drive-In cinema and offers waves that can reach as high as four feet. At 35 000 square feet, this is Nevada’s largest wave pool. It is heated during the cooler months.
