The character of this picture-perfect mountain village has been retained thanks to its quaint wooden houses, holiday chalets, and hotels dotting the mountainside.
It also happens to be entirely car-free: visitors park their cars in Lauterbrunnen, where they catch the train that brings them to Wengen. Once in the town, it’s easy to get around on foot or by bike.
Of course, the town’s main attraction is the famous Jungfrau peak, one of the main summits of the Bernese Alps.
