This town in central Arizona was once a thriving copper-mining community.
Evidence for this can be found at the Mine Museum in Main Street, which houses old mining equipment and a number of other artifacts from as far back as the early 1950s.
The Gold King Mine and Ghost Town can also be found on the outskirts of town, which gives visitors the opportunity to step back in time and view the structures, vehicles, and equipment that were used in the town’s early mining days.
Downtown is home to a number of art galleries and the town’s original winery, while the Jerome Historic State Park encompasses Douglas Mansion, an iconic landmark that once belonged to a mining magnate.
