The Iowa River runs through the middle of town, boasting scenic views from either side of the historic Oak Street Bridge, while the Calkins Nature Area offers outdoor enthusiasts over 70 acres of nature trails to explore.

The town is also home to one of 73 carved wooden statues by Hungarian-born artist Peter Toth. These statues form part of his famous “Trail of the Whispering Giants”, which pay homage to Native American tribes all over the country.
