Located in a region surrounded by state parks, rivers, and hiking trails, the quaint yet charming town of Black Diamond offers numerous leisurely options for tourists.
One of its most popular attractions is Flaming Geyser State Park, which got its name from a pocket of methane gas that, when lit, shot an eight-foot-high flame into the air. While the geyser is accessible via short hike, the two most popular past times for visitors in the park include tubing and rafting down the Green River during the summer.
Another popular attraction nearby is the ghost town of Franklin, which features the remains of an old coal mining community established there in the 1880s.
Black Diamond is also home to the Black Diamond Museum, which details the history of coal mining in the area.
